Blog #2
Earlier in my book, Thomas saw the maze walls close at night and was told they close at the same time every night, and that's when the monsters known as Grievers roam the maze more frequently than they do during the day. Thomas' friends, Alby and Minho end up going into the maze to inspect what they suspect is a dead griever but it turns out to be alive and stings Alby. They end up getting stuck, just as the walls start closing so Thomas rushes in to save them, knowing how dangerous it is at night. Thomas manages to tie Alby up against a maze wall with the thick vines, and Minho runs away, but later comes back helping Thomas avoid Griever. During the struggle Thomas manages to kill multiple grievers by luring them off a ledge in the maze. They managed to get out the next day and that was the first time anyone had ever lasted a night in the maze.
Do you think that Thomas saving two people that he had only met a few days ago was brave or stupid?
I think Thomas was brave to save Alby and Minho because it gives humanity hope that there will be a better tomorrow.
