Blog #3
I personally think that the ending of my book was very well done because it left me wanting to know what's going to happen in the next book. Basically, there is a huge twist at the end and everyone inside realizes they're in a giant man made maze, where the creators are testing each and every one of them, killing them off until only the ones they deem fit remain. This shocks everyone, especially Thomas. Thomas got stung by a griever and once he was injected with the cure he started going through a horrible recovery and in his dreams he got some of his memories back. Before they all faded away he discovered that he had helped create the maze. At the end of the book we realize that the maze is one of many trials and everyone in them are being tested. Once they escape the maze, someone kills Thomas's best friend, throwing a knife into his heart, and that's what finally makes him snap, swearing his revenge on the people who are putting him through this.
Apparently these trials are for a greater good and they can save lives, do you think that it's fair to put kids through them, based off of what they go through and the things they're forced to see?
Blog #2 Character Analysis
My character, Thomas, has been through a lot and up until now he still doesn't fully understand what's going on in the maze he's trapped in, no one does. He's constantly worrying about his new friends and does the best he can to support them, at the same time he also has some enemies who make things challenging for him whenever they can. I think the one weakness that Thomas has is caring too much about others and not enough for himself. He risks his life on more than one occasion knowing he may be the only one who can get them all out of the maze. Other than that, Thomas is a good character whose traits are those of someone that could be viewed as a hero.

Blog #2
Earlier in my book, Thomas saw the maze walls close at night and was told they close at the same time every night, and that's when the monsters known as Grievers roam the maze more frequently than they do during the day. Thomas' friends, Alby and Minho end up going into the maze to inspect what they suspect is a dead griever but it turns out to be alive and stings Alby. They end up getting stuck, just as the walls start closing so Thomas rushes in to save them, knowing how dangerous it is at night. Thomas manages to tie Alby up against a maze wall with the thick vines, and Minho runs away, but later comes back helping Thomas avoid Griever. During the struggle Thomas manages to kill multiple grievers by luring them off a ledge in the maze. They managed to get out the next day and that was the first time anyone had ever lasted a night in the maze.
Do you think that Thomas saving two people that he had only met a few days ago was brave or stupid?

So far, in my book a boy named Thomas woke up on an elevator that brought him up into a place known as The Glade, the center of a giant maze. He meets several other kids his age, all who were in the same situation he was, waking up with no memories about himself or his past other than his name. Everyone in the maze wants to find a way out and there is a team of "runners" who run around the maze daily, searching and exploring it for clues or anything that could be helpful. All Thomas wants is to figure out the maze and get out, so his current goal is to become a runner and help everyone escape.
If you were thrown into a situation where you had no idea what you were doing with no recollection of who you are and your past, what would the first thing you do?
